The now bankrupt Gander Mountain has a very long and interesting history. Starting as a catalog order company in Wisconsin. Originally being privately owned, then going public and back to private ownership. They’ve had some legal issues with Cabelas after they sold the catalog portion of the company from them. They also bought a boating catalog company called “Overtons”. After filing bankruptcy in 2017 they were bought by Camping World and are now known as Gander Outdoors. They are trying to build upon that brand and expanding into the RV business. As a former employee that left just before the bankruptcy in 2017. I can tell you that there were many mistakes made, including a period of hyper expansion and updating of all the stores.
