AIG’s history is chock full of interesting twists in turns ranging from its involvement in locating bomb plants in WW2 with the OSS (Precursor to the CIA) to managing relations with the Soviet Union through the coverage of an expedition to a sunken submarine to becoming the biggest insurance company in history before its decline following in the 2008 banking crisis.

Its a very interesting story that usually gets buried because of the 2008 crisis, but definitely one worth telling. Sources below.
