This company history touches different fields that aren’t too closely related. Looking at their Wikipedia page (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bausch__Lomb) you would think they’re known for their medical equipment. But for a lot of camera nerds (so to speak) they have a famous cinema lens called the Super Baltar (https://www.camtec.tv/bausch-lomb-super-baltar-tls).

Products such as the module 8 adapter even tried to emulate this lens.

So yeah it has a rich history and is one of the oldest company in the USA.
