Brown’s chicken was a local chicago fried chicken chain. They had 150-200 stores in the chicago area which was more than KFC and probably outsold them as well. Until the infamous brown’s chicken massacre happened. Sales plummeted 35% and they closed 100 locations in the aftermath. Today only 23 remain. Their chicken is fantastic and they could very well be what popeyes is in the industry today if not for the tragic murder of 7 people at one of it’s stores.
