Christmas Tree Shops started in the 1950s as a holiday gift shop located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The founder, Charles Bilezikian, would sell Christmas trees and gifts in the summer to supplement his income from a year-round business. Over time, the business evolved into a year-round store offering a variety of merchandise at discounted prices. The name “Christmas Tree Shops” stuck even though the stores no longer exclusively sell Christmas-related items. Today, Christmas Tree Shops is a popular retail chain with over 80 locations across the United States.
