Panera Bread has been streamlining operations in a not-so-good way by closing Fresh Dough Facilities, and transitioning to an outsourced model where bread and pastries are par-baked by third-party contractors, which are then shipped to various Panera Bread restaurants where they are finished on-site. In addition, they have been closing restaurants as well.
