The company was started in 1878 as a newspaper company and has continued operations through various mediums including broadcast TV and FAST channels. There is a lot of history of them getting into different media businesses and spinning them off, such as when they sold their cable networks (HGTV, Food Network, etc.) to Discovery. They were one of the first businesses to get into podcast deals and sold their businesses too. It has great history of buying and selling while staying in control by one family. Recently, they made a lot of news about their purchase of ION TV with the backing of Berkshire Hathaway Company. I think it would be worth researching.
