Back in 2000 Ford and Firestone had a debacle with the ATX tires on the Explorer. Tires would blow at highway speeds causing roll overs and death. Firestone blamed Ford vise versa. Also it was user error as well people were over inflating the tires and under inflating the tires due to Fords recommendations. Was the ATX tires at Fault? This happened in 199 to 2001. It was big news. Owners were overinflating their tires to over 60 to 70 psi and the owners were driving these 90+ on the freeway.
