Gaston Glock had never made any firearm before, but in the early 1980s came up with his Glock pistols for the Austrian army, which went on to be the most popular line of pistols in the USA.

The company’s history is fascinating, including an attempt on Gaston’s life (which he fought off despite his old age). Would make for a great episode.
