Goodrich Quality Theatres

This theatre chain started in 1930 by William Goodrich after he left his family’s rubber manufacturing business in order to purchase the Savoy Theatre in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was a chain that lasted up until this year. A few weeks ago they declared bankruptcy. Due to the current virus they have officially fired all employees. It doesn’t look like they will ever be opening their doors again. It really is going to be devastating to the communities that they were in. I know in my hometown that they will have to drive to a big city to see a movie now. It was also my first job. I worked there for over 3 years and was lucky that I moved over to Panera a few months ago. I love your videos and couldn’t think of a better way to get the word out about the job that I loved so much. Hope you are safe during all of this and have fun reading the interesting rise and fall of a movie chain that failed to evolve. Thanks!
