In Oakland, Middle California, where this firm was headquartered, GGFI was a stone pride source. Growing up, I loved the truth that there was more to chipping, etc. than Frito-Lay, than Bell Brand, than Laura Scudder’s. Were their products good? HELL YEAH! For example, I was a nut fan of their TORTILLOS chips and their curly NATIVE AMERICAN STYLE CORN CHIPS. I was sad/angry when the firm was sold, left Oakland, and eventually vanished. The brand was left to exist in the Philippines for many years. It now in the US again exists, but is a sad shadow of its former self. I think the World should know about the rise/fall of a mighty firm from/within Oakland, MCA.
