TLDR: Graybar is a 150 year old American Electrical Distribution Company that spans the continental USA. Yet very few people know who they are.
#################
Graybar Electric was founded during civil war reconstruction by Elisha Gray (the guy who lost out on the patent of the telephone). They got their start selling telegraph lines.
They have an interesting employee profit sharing system which has existed for a very long time.
They also, despite being mainly a distribution company. Have a counter style retail store service for Contractors and the general public.
It just turned 150 years old this year and its a pretty big deal.
Graybar also has been really big in the U.S.A. with the change-over from Florescent and edition bulbs to LED lighting. They also do com-data, industrial, and roadway gear. basically anything electronic.
