Not only are they a smashing success, they’re the source of a conundrum that maybe you can solve for me.

They’ve been around since 1998. That part isn’t the problem. I definitely remember hearing of them almost that far back. The part that I’m confused about is that they’ve been making their flagship product, the K-Cup, since the beginning. I definitely don’t remember seeing or hearing about K-Cups that far back. I’m thirty-one, and I’ve been drinking coffee since around 2004. Maybe it’s because I hadn’t entered the workforce yet (they were originally designed for office use), or I just didn’t know anyone who had one of the machines in their home, but I definitely don’t remember seeing or hearing about K-Cups until ten years ago, TOPS. The company apparently started selling only on the east coast, and I’ve always lived in the west, so maybe that’s why? Have they made some sort of big expansion westward in the last decade?
