There was a movie called Erin Brockovich that was about how they knowingly let people live with poisonous water and soil and tried to quietly cover it up.

In the early 2000’s they gave their customers rolling blackouts due to Enron’s day traders yanking power away to drive up the cost of energy. CA governor Gray Davis was successfully recalled for doing nothing about it despite having little to no control in the matter.

They were found responsible for many homes being destroyed and many fatalities due to the lack of maintenance and over sight of there aging infrastructure.
Now they’re shutting off power to hundreds of thousands of customers because we have a slight wind warning.
