SCO has been in the middle of many controversies in the early years of linux and late years of unix operating systems. SCO was the smallest unix provider not owning hardware. Sco unix was ae to be executed on a general pc compatible hardware, not sold by sco. Other than that, sco has been in the middle of legal battles with bell labs, novell, and lately IBM in the struggle to survive.
