They started as a legendary carrier in 2000, got acquired by Sprint (which is where their bad reputation came from), then in 2020 got acquired by DISH (the satellite company which is now called EchoStar corporation) and in 2024 they rebranded and they’re now trying to compete as one of the major networks, except EchoStar is running out of money
