Bandai was formed in the 5/7/1950 its sister company Popy was formed in July 1971 as a subsidiary to Bandai Japan when it came to its diecast metal robots form various Tokusatsu and Anime products usually intended to be sold at candy shops and other retail outlets outside of the usual toy stores. Popy introduced a palm-sized, diecast metal version of the bike ridden by the show’s title character. It proved a major success as well and paved the way for a massive wave of vinyl and diecast metal renditions of characters from the Japanese kids’ shows that dominated the Japanese toy market for more than a decade. Other notable successes included the Jumbo Machinder series and the Chogokin series of diecast metal robot toys, most notably that of Super Robot characters such as GA-1 Mazinger Z,DXPA,DXPB,DX GB-3 DX Battle Fever J Robo, GB-14 DX Denjiman Daidenji , GB-32 DX Sun Vulcan Robo, etc after 1982 Popy became a defunct compony, Then in 1983 Bandai Japan merged with Popy and continued to make diecast robot toys for young Japanese’s boys. between 1976 to 1985 by Mattel and Bandai America,Bandai Australia and Bandai Europe they released The Shogun Warriors and the Godaikin line to there western counterparts but eventually floped due to low sales, demand and high prices.
