It’s a company that’s been in existence for 97 years and has been party to some of the largest and most dramatic corporate mergers, acquisitions, and spin offs in recent decades.

AOL time Warner -> time Warner -> time inc/ Meredith Corp -> Time USA LLC (owned by the Benioffs)

And that’s just the most recent 30 years.

Even through all that corporate drama they still maintain relevancy in US media. Especially with their selection of the Person of the Year… also Trumps weird obsession with being awarded that honor.

There’s a lot of inside baseball type corporate games that a hard to pick apart, but it’s interesting that the Meredith corporation bought them and immediately turned around and sold them off. Then the CEO of Salesforce swooped in and bought them in a sorta Jeff Bezos/WaPo arraignment.
