After HD DVD, Toshiba never really bounced back in the consumer line. In fact the whole company almost went under after a series of bad luck from accounting scandles to the Georgia Nuclear power plant construction mess. They bought IBM’s POS system used in places like Walmart. The company that invented flash memory used widely today is just barely surviving. Best Buy sell rebranded Toshiba TV’s but they aren’t the Japanese quality of engineering like Sony they once were. Their laptops were some of the best of the 90’s, but lost momentum. They make electric motors for Ford’s Hybrid cars.
