in some countries, I came to find that there was a VCD era in between after VHS and Betamax era and before DVD and Blu ray era in the United States. I wonder why it did not bloom or have been a thing in the United States. As I know VCD was cheaper than DVD as DVD has superior video quality than a VCD.
