Venture was started in 1970 in St Louis MO by a former Target CEO. Venture grew and brought bankrupt Chicago Turn Style in 1979. They expanded in Chicago and then they expanded into Iowa Indiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Then in 1998 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and then a month later went into liquidation. What caused Venture Stores INC to go bankrupt. Was it their rapid mistake of going into Texas or a deeper problem with May Company (Macy’s) Venture was a Target spinoff.
