In the 1950s, CBS started Viacom as their syndicated television company. In the seventies they speaking its own separate company, which then bought its former parent company in the late 90s. The mid-2000s saw the two companies split into the CBS corporation and new Viacom, which are now in the process of merging back together. all the while, these two companies are owned by another one called national amusements, which is officially a movie theater chain. And I would very much like to know how this got so confusing, and feel like you would do a better job explaining that than anywhere else I could read about it.
