They are kind of like the Marvel and DC for Japanese comics,(One Piece, Jump’s biggest title has recently overtaken batman to become the 2nd best selling comic of all time) they dominate their industry and have produced tons of successful and influential series. Examples for Jump include Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto, and My Hero Academia, Examples for Magazine include Attack On Titan, Fairy Tail, and Great Teacher Onizuka. They both have a large presence overseas and their business model has some interesting differences from Marvel and DC as their primary product is a weekly magazine that the chapters of their currently running series are compiled in, later those series are printed in individual books 10 or so chapters to a book till the series finishes.
