Kind of unusual from the norm, but with so many companies failing, I have wondered what happens to a company after bankruptcy? A closing date is set, liquidation starts, stores close. But what is happening at HQ during and after that time? I was goofing around and noticed that there is still a lot of activity (that I don’t fully understand) with the court for a company that closed last summer (Shopko). Does that mean most company’s offices still operate to settle matters or is does a company truly die past its closing date and it’s just lawyers doing their thing at that point?
