Wheels Up is a private jet company that is looking to change the industry. They were founded in 2013 by CEO Kenny Ditcher who previously created a separate company named NetJets which he sold to Warren Buffett. Ditcher has had the goal to take Wheels Up into the market of democratized private aviation. Basically trying to make this new company like an Uber for the sky. What makes this company extremely fascinating is the number of celebrity investors which include A-Rod, Tom Brady, Russell Wilson etc. The company is now going public through the SPAC ASPL which is set to merge in June. It would be interesting to hear about their rise to the top of private aviation industry. Considering that Delta Airlines has an over $500mill investment in them.
